Black Hole's Hiccup May Aid in Creating New Stars
Although black holes are thought to be world destroyers, new research is revealing that some may help in creating new stars. At the 227th Meeting of the American Astronomical Society a black hole has been observed producing outbursts of material, which are compressing gas, and astronomers believe it will induce new star formation.
The galaxy is called M51b.
